‘I Risk My Penis’: Dem Political Consultant Makes All-Timer Of A Speech-To-Text Flub

A Democratic political consultant raised eyebrows on social media for a speech-to-text flub in which he said the name of a defeated incumbent but it came out as “I risk my penis.”

Nick Carusi, a longtime Chicago political consultant, posted a stemwinder of a rant on Facebook after incumbent Cook County Circuit Court Clerk Iris Martinez lost her primary race to Mariyana Spyropoulos by a whopping 30-point margin:

With only 20% of the people voting part due to the presidential candidates and part due to Rosanna Rodriguez Sanchez, Alderman of the 33rd Ward by telling people not to vote and surprisingly young people did not vote. But I could tell you this election was just full of lies. I could go on and on about the Great accomplishments of the clerk of the Circuit Court Iris Martinez throughout her career, it was hard to fight the accusations of Mariyana Spyropoulos even though they held no truth whatsoever why was it hard because the lady put $800,000 and more from her family into that campaign as I watched the news last night and they interviewed her newscasters asked her about the questionable donations that she took herself. But I feel sorry for Mariyana Spyropoulos she is part of the old democratic system that Toni Pretwinkle has followed why do I feel sorry for her because Tony wants her money and that’s why she was backed it was all about the money. If anybody looked into the accusations that she made they would see that Iris Martinez wasn’t Court and the judges approved that there was no violations of the Shackman act. Yesterday at the polling place the 33rd Ward Alderman came with Grisela Guzman. They had matching coats lime green and if looks could kill from Rosanna Rodriguez she gave them. It was very different when Iris Martinez came later in the day and I risk my penis went up to everybody to say thank you no matter if they were Republican , socialist or democrats for volunteering their time something that Roseanna would never do.. it looks like we lost what we are proud we are proud of Iris Martinez because she is the first Latina to make a difference in this country and has helped so many Latin grow, against the wishes of the Socialist party and the President of the Cook County board. If there’s one good thing about this I am free to say what I wish to say and I will be watching Rosanna and Toni very closely. Many of you think or fear that democracy is in danger it isn’t democracy will come back we just have to keep on believing it and fighting for it.

As anyone who has used speech-to-text before can tell you (I’m using it right now), some people were not inclined to just let it go.

However, Caruso had a sense of humor about it. He immediately posted a new corrected version, and explained in the comments:

Steve thank God my friend Carol texted me about that , Steve see I talk into the phone because sometimes my diabetes bothers me. Whatever I said didn’t come out and it picked up a wrong word it was a little bit funny but I removed it immediately
