Trump Threatens ‘Amazon Washington Post’ With Government Retribution for Mean Op-eds
On Twitter on Monday, President Trump slammed the Washington Post, Amazon, and Jeff Bezos again, collectively referring to the “Amazon Washington Post”, and essentially threatened them with the full force of government – again – over his beef with the newspaper and their coverage of him and his administration.
The Amazon Washington Post has gone crazy against me ever since they lost the Internet Tax Case in the U.S. Supreme Court two months ago. Next up is the U.S. Post Office which they use, at a fraction of real cost, as their “delivery boy” for a BIG percentage of their packages….

….In my opinion the Washington Post is nothing more than an expensive (the paper loses a fortune) lobbyist for Amazon. Is it used as protection against antitrust claims which many feel should be brought?

Editor of the Atlantic David Frum thinks this latest round of ranting was set off by an article in the Times of London, although the president hardly needs much to set him off on the topic.
The President’s frequently tweeted accusations about Amazon taking advantage of the USPS have been debunked many, many, many times. Notably today in a fiesty tweet from Bloomberg.
Nixon wanted to intimidate the Washington Post by interfering with its business, just as Trump is attempting to bully the very same newspaper https://t.co/6iN8gRiBfH https://t.co/7j1GyVRsRT

Today Trump implies by rhetorical question that the Post is “protection” again antitrust claims.
Although many media companies and publications are owned by larger corporations, Trump singles out Amazon whenever the Washington Post covers him unfavorably, and he has a personal beef with Jeff Bezos, who is the CEO of Amazon and owns the newspaper.
