Jesse Watters Archly Pushes Obama Birther Conspiracy After Former President’s DNC Speech
Fox News host Jesse Watters pushed former President Donald Trump’s infamous birther conspiracy theory on Tuesday night and vowed to “get the truth” about former President Barack Obama’s birth certificate after the Democrat’s rousing speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC).
Of the many insults and attacks Trump leveled at Obama over the years, one insisted on referring to him as Barack Hussein Obama, emphasizing his middle name, in an apparent effort to otherize the former president, as well as alleging that he was not actually born in the United States and therefore was ineligible to serve as president. Obama released his birth certificate, which Trump then claimed was a fraud.
In an analysis on The Five, following Obama’s speech on day two of the Democratic National Convention (DNC), Watters raised the racially motivated attack line again as he cautioned that the former president was the “godfather” of the Democratic Party “machine” and is “definitely going to interfere” in the upcoming presidential election.
Watters told his co-hosts:
There is a weird vibe going on. I can’t figure it out but I will tell you this, Greg, Barack Obama – still the godfather of this machine. He gave us Joe Biden as VP, he gave us Hillary [Clinton] as his secretary of state, then he couped Joe, put all his boys with Kamala’s team and has his wingman vet Walz. Now, the guy’s a young 63 [year old] he’s going to be doing this the next 25 years. He’s definitely going to interfere in this election and that’s why we will be sending [Fox News producer] Johnny [Belisario] to Hawaii to get the truth about the birth certificate. This time we will dig deep and find out what really happened.
Agreeing, co-host Greg Gutfeld replied: “Good point. You should tell Johnny that he needs to get a passport.”
Watters continued: “To go to Kenya, I agree.”
Gutfeld laughed: “No, I meant to go to Hawaii just to see him do it.”
Watters replied: “Got it.”
Was Watters being arch or joking about this controversial comment? We report you decide.
