Fox News host Jesse Watters claimed that non-college-educated Americans have never heard of “fascism” while defending Donald Trump.
During a Thursday airing of The Five, the panel discussed the latest scandal rocking Trump’s campaign. Former White House Chief of Staff Gen. John Kelly claimed Trump praised Adolf Hitler while wishing his own generals were more like Hitler’s.
Vice President Kamala Harris slammed the former president while adding that Kelly is “putting out a 9-1-1 call” to Americans ahead of the election. The Trump campaign has denied the accusations.
Watters opened his remarks by claiming that if Trump does win the election, Harris will be forced “to certify a fascist” adding “So they’re either going to rise early and go nuts on the streets…or they’re just going to certify him like he’s Mitt Romney and admit the whole thing was baloney.” He added:
WATTERS: The whole thing was baloney. You can’t even define fascism. I challenge Kamala to tell us what it is because a majority of the country doesn’t know the word. She needs non-college-educated Blacks, Whites and Hispanics to turn out for her. And she is smearing her rival, as with a mid 20th century European political philosophy. Okay, Jessica–
JESSICA TARLOV: You think people don’t know what Hitler is?
WATTERS: She’s calling him a fascist. Go out on the street. Ask 20 people what that means.
