‘Why Are You This Stupid?’ Fox Host Blames ‘Terrible’ Teachers for TikTok Users Praising Bin Laden’s ‘Letter to America’
Guest co-host Joey Jones blamed the recent viral TikTok trend of Osama bin Laden’s 2002 “Letter to America” on “terrible” schoolteachers.
In 2002, the Al-Qaeda leader wrote a letter condemning the U.S. of supporting Israel and accused Americans of supporting the oppression of Palestinians. Recently, users on TikTok have posted videos with words from his letter to criticize current U.S. Middle Eastern policy, especially in regards to the conflict with Israel and Hamas.
During a Wednesday airing of the The Five, Jones blamed the virality of the letter on “terrible” schoolteachers for not properly educating the youth on why they should hate it. In fact, he argued everyone should read the letter in order to discern the difference between the reality of 9/11 and “some false flag bullcrap argument on why it’s okay to kill innocent people.”
“We shouldn’t be so afraid that our children and young people are so stupid and uninformed and that teachers are so bad, terrible at their job that they can read propaganda and be completely immersed and influence by it,” he told his Fox colleagues.
Jones then claimed the solution to teenagers sharing bin Laden’s letter is to question teachers about their job performance.
“If that’s the state of our country, then we need to go back and look at those teachers and ask people, Why are you this stupid? Why are you this ignorant to what bad people do? It should be a discussion,” he added.
He concluded social media companies taking down videos of bin Laden’s letter is counterproductive because it’s so easily accessible:
The idea that we’re taking this down off platforms, it took me a 30 minute Google search with good sources to find the letter and read it again because they’re scared to death that we’re that ignorant and that stupid and that easily impressionable that a letter from an from a terrorist mastermind could influence a whole generation. That’s on us. That’s our malpractice in raising kids and teaching people in school.
