Giuliani Asks Newsmax Host, ‘You Got Any Money You Can Loan Me?’ After $148 Million Defamation Judgment Against Him
Hours after a jury awarded $148 million to two election workers in their defamation lawsuit against Rudy Giuliani, he appeared on Newsmax with a question for host Greg Kelly.
Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss sued Giuliani, who claimed in December 2020 that they were “quite obviously surreptitiously passing around USB ports as if they’re vials of heroin or cocaine.” Those devices, which Giuliani claimed helped rig the 2020 presidential election in Georgia, turned out to be mints.
As a result of the smear, Freeman and Moss received scores of threats.
In August, a federal judge issued a summary judgment in their favor, finding Giuliani liable for defamation after he refused to comply with court orders. On Friday, the jury in the case hit him with $148 in damages, though Giuliani will be hard-pressed to come up with anything close to that.
“That’ll be $148 million, please!” Kelly exclaimed after welcoming Giuliani to Greg Kelly Reports on Friday night
“You got any money you can loan me, Greg?” Giuliani replied before laughing.
“It seems totally ludicrous,” Kelly said while referencing Giuliani’s wild presser after the jury’s handed down its decision. “I thought you were terrific after the verdict. What are you thinking right now?”
“How can you not be so sad for the country?” he responded. “Here I am in the District of Columbia. The first time I came here, I had goosebumps. I’m gonna leave here thinking that this District of Columbia is a fascist court.”
Giuliani has repeatedly attacked the judge in the case and his legal strategy left much to be desired.
