Bill O’Reilly Says Republicans Will Blame Hurricane on Biden — But Putting Harris in Charge of Response Was ‘Blatantly Political’
Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly predicted on Wednesday that Republicans would blame Hurricane Milton on President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris because “the truth doesn’t really matter anymore.”
Speaking to NewsNation host Chris Cuomo as the hurricane hit Florida with destructive winds and floods, O’Reilly said, “The Republicans are going to try to blame Biden for whatever happens, and by extension Kamala Harris. That’s what they’re gonna try to do.”
He continued, “On both sides, the truth doesn’t really matter anymore with the election three-and-a-half weeks away, so don’t expect any truth telling from anybody.”
O’Reilly went on to criticize Biden for seemingly putting Harris in charge of the hurricane response, claiming that the move was “blatantly political.”
“So today the Biden White House announced that no longer will Joe Biden be in charge of the hurricane relief. Now it’s Kamala Harris who’s gonna call the shots,” he said. “Okay, so that’s pretty unusual that a sitting president would go, ‘Ah, I don’t want to have anything to do with it. We’re gonna put the candidate, my vice president, in charge.’ Blatantly political. Okay, it happened.”
O’Reilly concluded, “Yes, the Republicans and Donald Trump are trying to use a storm for political advantage, but so is Kamala Harris.”
The former Fox News host has repeatedly criticized both Harris and Trump during the 2024 election cycle, accusing both candidates of being “tone deaf” with their messaging, and accusing Trump of lacking discipline.
In September, O’Reilly criticized Trump for posting, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” on his social media page and called the stunt “ridiculous.”
