‘He Has Never Said It’: Cuomo Clashes with Ronna McDaniel After She Claims Trump Admitted He Lost in 2020

Chris Cuomo clashed with former Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel, who surprised the host when she claimed Donald Trump admitted he lost the 2020 election.

McDaniel joined Wednesday’s Cuomo on NewsNation, where they talked about the race between the former president and Vice President Kamala Harris, as well as some housekeeping about the last election.

“Help me with something I’ve never understood,” Cuomo told McDaniel. “Why is there such hesitancy from people the closer you get to the Trump orbit to say, ‘He lost the last election.’ You want the legal route. Nothing wound up being sustained. The group that supposedly had all the affidavits that would prove otherwise had to stand in open court and say, ‘We don’t have that proof.’ Why is it so hard for you people to say, ‘Trump lost’? Let’s move on.”

“Well, I’ve said that,” McDaniel replied. “He said it. I mean, the reality is, Joe Biden’s been the president for for years–”

“He has never said it,” Cuomo responded.

“He has said it,” McDaniel protested.

“But that’s different than saying he lost,” the host said.

Recently, on a few occasions, Trump has said Biden beat him, though the former president still insists the election was rigged against him. When confronted about one of his apparent concessions, Trump replied, “I said that?”

“Joe Biden’s the president,” McDaniel continued. “We’re moving on. And the reality is the American people right now are – a lot of them – saying, ‘I wish I had voted for Trump four years ago and I wish we didn’t have these last four years of Joe Biden.”

“That’s different,” Cuomo said. “But if you ask those people, Ronna, they say, ‘Trump lost.’ I haven’t heard you say those words.”

“I have said it,” she noted. “There’s lots of headlines. I’ve said it many, many times. I said it in 2021. Clearly, that’s the case. Joe Biden won. Donald Trump lost.”
