Ted Cruz’s Daughter Winces Big-Time When Dad Praises Trump, Tells Mom, ‘Don’t Clap for That’

Video has surfaced showing that one of the teenage daughters of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was none too pleased when her father said he wanted Donald Trump to return to the White House.

Cruz celebrated his reelection win over Rep. Colin Allred (D-TX) on Tuesday night in Texas, where Democrats hoped to pull off an upset and flip the seat. Instead, it was one of several Senate losses for Democrats, who relinquished control of the upper chamber.

On Thursday, a snippet of Cruz’s victory speech made the rounds online. As he spoke, the presidential election had not yet been called, and the senator said he wanted to see Trump elected again.

“And I believe, and I hope and pray that Donald Trump will be reelected as president of the United States,” Cruz said while flanked by his wife, Heidi, and their daughters. One TikTok user happened to catch the expression on the face of Caroline Cruz, who winced hard as her father delivered the line.

She turned to her mother and appeared to tell her mom, Heidi, “Don’t clap for that.”

Trump, of course, ended up winning Tuesday’s race against Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I want to say thank you, number one, to my extraordinary wife, Heidi, my best friend in the world,” the senator continued. “Such an amazing partner on this magic carpet ride of life. And I want to say thank you to our two beautiful and amazing girls, Caroline and Catherine. You know, politics at times exacts a price on the family. And I want to say I am so grateful for their love and support.”

Cruz famously sparred with Trump in the 2016 GOP primary, during which Trump demeaned the senator’s appearance and suggested Cruz’s father was involved in the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
