CNN Panel Erupts At Ex-Fox News Host’s Take on Trump’s Arnold Palmer Remarks: ‘You Don’t Know What You’re Talking About’

CNN panel broke into awkward laughter on Monday night after ex-Fox News host Gretchen Carlson’s surprising take that former President Donald Trump’s remarks about golf legend Arnold Palmer’s “manhood” were a strategic attempt to appeal to male voters.

During a rally at the weekend, Trump shared the anecdote about having seen Palmer’s genitalia as the sportsman disrobed at a club, telling the crowd that the golfer was “all man.”

Carlson, however, offered a strange interpretation of Trump’s story when on panel at The Source with Kaitlan Collins with three men, ex-Obama White House official Van Jones, former Trump adviser David Urban, and CNN journalist Harry Enten.

After host Kaitlin Collins rolled back the clip, pointing out five men behind Trump laughing at the story, Carlson offered her take: “Okay, look, I know a lot of people have said that this is Trump is deranged, you know, he goes off the rails, he says all this crap that nobody believes all this other stuff. I think that this was on purpose.”

She continued: “This is his full-throttle attempt to get at men and their manhood, and no offense to guys on this panel, but what man does not like people talking about their manhood?”

“Wow,” all men on the panel shouted in response, laughing. Enten raised his hands as Urban declared: “You can strike me off that list,” with Jones agreeing.

Carlson continued, however, undeterred: “Well, I’ve known a few men in my day, and I’m just going to stand by that statement. He is hoping that they are listening to that and saying, ‘wow, he’s talking about me and I like Donald. And I’m going go out and vote for him.’”

The panelists couldn’t hold back their laughter.

“I’ll defer to you on women’s issues, Gretchen,” Urban said, chuckling, while Jones added: “…But you don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“I don’t know why you guys are so flustered,” Carlson joked back.

Covering her face with her notes, Collins tried to get the conversation on topic again: “Can we talk about Mark Robinson? Subject change!”
