Ilhan Omar SCREAMS During Fiery Floor Speech: ‘Palestinians Are Dying!’

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) could barely contain herself when speaking out in favor of Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) on the House floor Tuesday.

At issue was whether Tlaib should be formally censured as proposed by Rep. Rich McCormick (R-GA) for “promoting false narratives” about the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel, and for “calling for the destruction of the state of Israel.”

“It is glaring hypocrisy when you have Republicans on the other side of the aisle trying to create definitions and say, ‘Rashida wants to annihilate people,’ when Max Miller himself went on TV and said, ‘We’re turning Gaza into a parking lot, and we annihilate Palestinians,'” Omar said, referring to Rep. Max Miller (R-OH), who introduced his own resolution calling for Tlaib’s censure.

“Nobody condemned to him on that side of the aisle! What is true here is that every single one of them has not acknowledged that Palestinians are dying in the tens of thousands, but will continue to say it is us who are not acknowledging humanity! Rashida will stand strong and the Palestinian movement will continue for liberation until every single Palestinian has the right to live in liberty!”

Tlaib responded to McCormick’s resolution by saying, “It’s a shame my colleagues are more focused on silencing me than they are on saving lives, as the death toll in Gaza surpasses 10,000. Many of them have shown me that Palestinian lives simply do not matter to them, but I still do not police their rhetoric or actions.”

Democrats as well as Republicans in the House have condemned Tlaib for anti-Israel comments, and for promoting the phrase, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” a rallying cry for the elimination of Israel. In a tweet, Tlaib called the phrase, “an aspirational call for freedom, human rights, and peaceful coexistence, not death, destruction, or hate.”

House lawmakers are expected to hold a final vote on McCormick’s resolution sometime Wednesday.

Also Tuesday, the House will consider a second resolution to censure Tlaib that’s sponsored by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).
